Review of Mt Cook View Motel
Our 5th accommodation during our 2 month NZ road trip. We stayed here for 2 nights in mid-November. We absolutely loved the spacious garden at the back of the unit, facing the friendly cows opposite.
After a windy drive from Hokitika, it was great to have a friendly face to talk to when we reached. We were provided a very comfortable unit in the corner where our kids could just run out into a spacious garden to run around. The bench outside was the ideal place to watch the cows (and the kids) go by. The only thing that could improve is the bathroom facilities. They look rather dated and could do with some refurbishing. It's located a distance away from Fox Glacier town centre - basically a 2 min drive from town and 2 min to Lake Matheson car park in the opposite direction.
